One Person One Record (OPOR) is a clinical transformation initiative that will improve the delivery of healthcare for patients across Nova Scotia. The ultimate outcome is for patients and providers to have seamless access to the information and care processes they need, no matter where care is given or received.
Specialized OPOR teams such as At-the-Elbow Support are growing rapidly across the province to support staff before, during and after implementation. These teams will create strategies with a variety of initiatives to support leaders and staff through this large-scale transformation project.
One Person One Record (OPOR) RIA Internship Program is designed for recent graduates of studies and soon to be graduates, in healthcare management, clinical systems, data analytics, education and related disciplines. Interns will be embedded directly into the OPOR team to support the provincial implementation of a new Clinical Information System (CIS), a transformative initiative that will unify health records across Nova Scotia.
Interns will gain hands-on experience in digital health transformation by contributing to operational planning, data quality improvement, frontline support (At The Elbow), workflow optimization, and organizational readiness activities.
At-The-Elbow (ATE) Support refers to a specialized support service provided during the critical stage of a new Clinical Information System (CIS) deployment, known as “go-live”. This hands-on, on-site service aims to minimize disruptions by offering personalized assistance to healthcare professionals as they adapt to the new system.
Specialists are physically present or readily available remotely to troubleshoot issues, answer queries, and provide training, ensuring a smoother transition and optimizing system utilization.
