Join Nova Scotia Health as a Nurse Practitioner in Primary Health Care

Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are highly recognized and respected by patients, interprofessional providers, teams and communities across Nova Scotia.

The advanced education, skills, leadership and holistic patient-centred care of NPs make a significant positive impact on the lives of Nova Scotians and their impact continues to expand as the province finds new ways to leverage the unique skillset of this important role.

The opportunities have never been greater for NPs to join dynamic primary health care (PHC) teams across the province, including innovative care models and roles enabling NPs to bring their expert care to practices offering single or multiple sites and practice interests.

To bolster the positive transformations happening in primary health care delivery, Nova Scotia Health has built more support for nurse practitioners than ever before, equipping their career transitions, lifelong learning and practice through an all-NP Enhancement Strategies Team of provincial professional practice Leaders (PPLs), clinical educators and a dedicated director.

This team of NP leaders and educators will partner with leaders in primary health care to provide transitional support, further welcoming you into an NP PHC Community of Practice, and offering additional colleague mentorship, collaboration and supports.
