About the Opportunity

The Organizational Development Consultant provides strategic guidance on the effective design and delivery of best practice organization-wide employee retention and engagement strategies, programs and initiatives in support of the organizations mission, vision, values and strategic directions. This role requires the incumbent to gather data and feedback from leaders and their teams and use this information to innovate in the development of strategies and programs and to continually improve programs across many areas of focus which may include any or all of the following: employee orientation and onboarding, employee engagement, organizational learning and talent development, performance assessment and change management.

 

Specific responsibilities may include:

 

  • Develop an organization-wide employee engagement strategy through assessment (e.g.- workplace surveys and engagement tools, etc.), implementation, evaluation and integration of programs, activities and services that influence and increase engagement of individuals, teams and leaders and positively impact workplace culture
  • Provide leadership on the design, development and delivery of initiatives that support and influence engagement and retention, including the organization’s approach to employee orientation and onboarding, employee recognition, performance assessment
  • Partner with other colleagues in the development and delivery of an organizational learning and talent development strategy with a focus on knowledge creation, knowledge retention and knowledge transfer
  • Provide strategic input and guidance over the organizational learning environment inclusive of technological systems and required policies to ensure a positive and effective learner experience
  • Develop, implement, evaluate and update policies and guidelines for areas of OD accountability including researching best practice, analyzing trends, monitoring implementation and identifying required process improvements
  • Develop and deliver change management capability building programs for leaders and their teams and participate in change management support of organizational initiatives as required
  • Build respectful relationships with internal team members and stakeholders across all zones, programs, networks and portfolios through inclusive leadership practices, demonstrated expertise, ethical behavior, integrity and consistently acting in a trustworthy manner.
  • Continually build capabilities of self and others by creating development opportunities for training and coaching in all areas of Organizational Development
     

The role includes strategic consultation, design, planning, policy development as well as effective implementation, change management, and facilitation.

 

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Graduate of a post-secondary degree/program in related field (e.g., Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education, Social or Behavioural Sciences, etc.), or equivalent combination of education and training
  • Certification or training in adult education, facilitation and change management preferred
  • Knowledge of all aspects of organizational development and organizational effectiveness, preferably within the health sector including adult learning methodologies, change management, leadership practices, and related models and concepts
  • Demonstrated current knowledge of organizational development principles, models and philosophies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and reconciliation
  • Experience interpreting and embedding organizational strategies and policies
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision making skills
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and relationship building skills including consultative and coaching
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Long assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Approximately an 18-month assignment 
  • Some travel throughout the province will be required
  • Hybrid role

Compensation and Benefits

$40.15 - $50.19 Hourly
