About the Opportunity

With a focus on Clinical Practice and reporting to the Chief Nurse Executive & Vice President, Clinical Performance and Professional Practice, the Senior Director of Interprofessional Practice leads a change agenda to create a vision for person-centered, practice excellence.  The Senior Director fosters interprofessional practice environments that optimize scopes of practice for health professionals (regulated and non-regulated), as well as for other care providers and support services.

The Senior Director promotes an organizational culture of evidence-based practice to support health service transformation and the advancement of interprofessional practice.  This position serves as an expert consultant on interprofessional practice and scope of practice matters and is an effective strategist--leading the planning, delivery and evaluation of comprehensive policies and programs that are culturally safe and serve as foundations for the delivery of ethical, high quality care and service within the Nova Scotia Health Authority. The Senior Director is responsible for the successful development of effective clinical practice standards and evidence-based policies, procedures and tools into practice environments, as well as the implementation and evaluation of collaborative care frameworks. The Senior Director works closely with government and other partners on research and practice-related matters, as well as with the Chief Nursing Executive regarding nursing practice and nursing strategy.

  • Clinical orientation and clinical leadership development

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
 

  • Master's degree in a health profession, health administration, or equivalent experience and related Master's degree
  • Minimum of 7 years' senior level, progressive management experience in health care, in addition to having clinically related practice experience
  • Eligible for registration with relevant health or professional discipline/college, or association
  • Certified Health Executive designation is an asset
  • Experience working with system partners to advance pre and post licensure education an asset
  • Experience in planning and delivery of comprehensive professional practice programs within a complex, integrated service model
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks applicable to the practice of health professions
  • Proven track record in engaging, mentoring and empowering teams and stakeholders
  • Experience in initiating, leading and managing complex organizational change
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and decision-making skills with ability to interpret statistical data, and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks
  • High level of competence in both written and verbal communication
  • Experience working with diversity of staff and stakeholders, with knowledge of cultural competence, diversity and social inclusion
  • Sound knowledge of information systems
  • Excellence in financial planning and human resource management

Hours

  • Permanent, full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

$67.93 - $84.9069 hourly ($132,463 - $165,574 annually)
