About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Food Service Supervisor and Manager of Nutrition and Food, the Dietary Aide is to perform duties related to the assembly and safe service of food to patients, staff, visitors and nursing home residents, and all other duties assigned by the Food Service Supervisor.
Routine job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepares and delivers patient trays and nourishments according to the therapeutic diet order
- Serves and responsible for working the cash in the cafeteria
- Assists with preparing food carts
- Portioning some menu items
- Scrapes, rinses, and washes the dishes
- Responsible for the proper storage of food and paper cleaning supplies
- Keeps kitchen clean and sanitary
- Empties and cleans garbage cans in kitchen
- Keeps work area clean and sanitary at all times
- Assists in the orientation of new personnel
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade 12/GED or equivalent
- Previous kitchen experience considered an asset
- Completion of a Food Safety Training Program or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment and also effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Commitment to maintain and protect patient, client, and personal safety on an ongoing basis
- Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

Compensation and Benefits
$20.35 - $20.85 Hourly
