About the Opportunity

 

The Anesthesia Quality Leader, under the direction of the Health Services Manager of Anesthesia and Physician Co-Leads, provides leadership and coordination in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of quality and patient safety anesthesia initiatives. This role promotes fundamental improvements to quality management practices thereby enhancing overall quality performance. This includes using data and analytics to monitor trends and identify opportunities for quality improvements; assist with review of patient safety data as required; sit on QI committees; organize departmental quality rounds; operationalize implementation of the strategic directions of the provincial Perioperative/ Surgical Services Program and the Anesthesia Department to drive quality anesthesia improvement initiatives.  The position will work with the co-leadership and multidisciplinary teams to guide and implement process changes in support of quality and continuous quality improvement.

About You

•    Undergraduate degree in Health Care discipline. Masters degree an asset
•    Appropriate licensure/membership in professional organization
•    Minimum 5 years of Perioperative / Critical Care experience or management experience in a perioperative / critical care setting
•    Anesthesia experience an asset
•    Understands quality, quality systems, and innovations in quality and patient care
•    Understands Perioperative/ Anesthesia procedures, complications and patient population
•    Understands and has ability to apply and coach others in the application of continuous quality improvement
•    Demonstrates a high degree of independent decision making, creativity, self-direction, motivation, change management and team building and leadership skill
•    Understands and has ability to apply and coach others in the application of regulatory requirements
•    Excellent project management and coaching skills, and ability to teach/transfer skills to all team members
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•    Effective presentation skills and group leadership skills
•    Demonstrates abilities as a change agent, will be able to work effectively with all levels of the organization and contribute as a team member
•    High analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
•    Experience in information database/management and demonstrated computer skills
•    Skills in operational and strategic planning
•    Helps promote a respectful workplace environment
•    Competencies in other languages are an asset, French preferred

Hours

 

•    18-month Temporary, Full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
•    Travel between sites in Central Zone to be required for specific quality projects
 

Compensation and Benefits

 

$40.15 - $50.19 Hourly
