About the Opportunity
The Perioperative Quality Leader under the direction of the Perioperative Director works closely with health services and physician leadership, the position is to provide leadership and coordination in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of Perioperative quality and patient safety initiatives. This includes using data and analytics to monitor trends and identify opportunities for quality improvements; assist with review of patient safety data as required; operationalize implementation of the strategic directions of the provincial Perioperative/ Surgical Services Network. The position provides leadership for ensuring accreditation and CSA standards are met or exceeded. The role will enable development of tracking mechanisms for quality improvement and will work in collaboration with the Perioperative Leadership Team as required
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Baccalaureate degree related to healthcare or quality management and/or equivalent education and experience.
- Master’s degree in related or relevant field of study an asset
- Minimum 5 Years of Perioperative experience or management experience in a Perioperative care setting
- Formal training and education in improvement science, process improvement methodologies, quality management and patient safety training and education as an asset
- Solid understanding of Accreditation Canada standards and processes
- Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement discussions and reviews, as well as experience in leading quality improvement initiatives and implementing evidence-based practice
- Demonstrated judgment and decision-making skills demonstrated through analysis and synthesis, critical thinking & problem solving, systems thinking and emotional intelligence
- Demonstrated ability to define a vision and guide individuals and groups toward the vision while maintaining group cohesiveness, motivation, commitment and effectiveness
- Project managing skills demonstrated through planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluating
- Demonstrated ability to build internal and external collaborative relationships
- Demonstrated skills in change management and leading change
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and sharing lessons learned
- Demonstrated organizational and priority-management skills
- Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practice, self-care and employee wellness
- Competencies in other languages are an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Long Assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
- Approximately 12 months (Assignment length subject to change)
Compensation and Benefits
$40.15 - $50.19 Hourly
