About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Bus Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of senior and special need clients to and from their respective residences to designated appointments/clinic activities. Must be comfortable and physically capable of assisting elderly/disabled individuals on and off the bus. Responsible for maintaining the bus and assorted hospital equipment to a specific criterion. Perform minor maintenance, perform routine inspection and any other duties peculiar to the position as directed by the Health Services Manager and / or Clinical Supervisor. Adhere to all policies and procedures pertinent to the position. Preview, schedule, and perform Preventative and Corrective maintenance activities to ensure serviceability of the equipment and vehicle particular to that position. Responsible to investigate, review, update, implement and prepare reports pertaining to all maintenance activities and programs
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
- One year of related experience with exemplary driving record required
- Class 4 License
- Defensive driving course required
- Certification in wheelchair repair preferred
- Knowledge of computer programs such as Word and Excel
- First Aid/St. John's Ambulance certificate
- CPR
- Must be able to assist clients in wheelchairs, walker, etc.
- Must be comfortable working with elderly and persons with disabilities
- Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

Please Note: Class 4 License, Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS), proof of Defensive Driving Course completion, and clear Driver's Abstract are required to be on an employee's file for this position.
Hours
- Permanent Full-Time Position, 75 Hours Bi-weekly
- Expected start date June 16, 2025.

Compensation and Benefits
$21.42 - $23.37 Hourly
