About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of DI Central Intake, the DI Central Intake Technologist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the DI Central Intake Office, providing high quality services including instruction and clinical oversight of Referral Officers, new staff, students, and learners. Guided by clinical expertise and best practice guidelines, the Technologist assumes responsibility for the clinical aspect of referral management, overseeing and advising on the pathways for imaging referrals received by the DI Central Intake Office, ensuring information on the patient referrals meet best practice guidelines and provincial departmental standards.

About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technology
• Successful completion of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) MRI exam and active licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP)
• Minimum of 3 years recent experience practicing as an MRI Technologist required
• In-depth understanding of indications for complex imaging and complete management of a referral required
• Demonstrated knowledge of a vast number of clinical best practice guidelines and decision tree algorithms
• Cross-training in another imaging modality an asset
• Previous experience in special/advanced procedures preferred and familiarity with referral management tools, eReferral, OneContent/SHARE, RIMS and PACS preferred
• Ability to independently make decisions on protocol and triaging choice that is clinically appropriate for specific modality assigned
• Thorough knowledge of provincial healthcare system (i.e., primary care, specialized care, diagnostic imaging, etc.) required
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

• Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits
$37.04 - $46.09 hourly
