About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Safety Manager under Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness, the Safety Response Advisor is responsible for supporting a safe workplace for staff by responding to events relating to work place safety, SAFE line/SIMS data collection and entry, initiation of investigation to appropriate OHSW representative, referral of calls relating to workplace injury/illness specifically needle stick, Blood Body Fluid, reports of violence, air quality and safety concerns, completion of electronic WCB employer injury reports for time loss and medical aid claims.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Grade 12
- Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- One (1) year related experience in the area of Occupational Health Safety & Wellness
- Membership in good standing with professional or industry association if applicable is an asset
- Additional training/certification in areas of safety is an asset
- Knowledge in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
- Knowledge of OH&S legislation, WCB Act, Human Rights Act and regulations as well as industry best practices
- Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development in OHS
- Excellent computer skills, familiar with enterprise software systems, database, presentation software, word processing and statistical analysis software.
- Demonstrated good organizational skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to engage with others including employees, managers and stakeholders.
- Good presentation skills

Hours
Long Assignment Full-Time; 75 Hours Bi-Weekly.
Compensation and Benefits
$25.63 - $32.24 hourly
$49,988 - $62,874 annually
