About the Opportunity

The IM/IT Systems Analyst (SA) reports to an IM/IT Manager and will take direction from either the IM/IT Lead or Sr. Analyst and will be responsible for the effective operation of supported cardiology software systems.

This position is responsible for the requirement gathering, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support for primarily clinical information management and technology solutions and functions across NSH, IWK and its many external clients. The IM/IT SA/BA works with their team to collaborate with key clinical and business stakeholders throughout the province as the organization, in partnership with the province’s Internal Services Department and the Department of Health and Wellness, moves towards the rationalization of disparate systems and the OPOR strategy.

The IM/IT SA will be committed to a high standard of performance and will provide support across the organization to leverage IT applications aligned with NSH’s and its client’s strategic mission, vision and goals. The IM/IT SA performs a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: evaluation of requests for change, data retrieval; troubleshooting and assisting with the resolution of application errors and other system issues; development of materials and the communication of system changes to end users; and, building and maintaining all system configuration items in line with best practice and appropriate stakeholder approvals.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Primary support for a variety of Cardiology applications; tasked with working closely with front line clinical staff.
  • Information gathering and documentation of business requirements and end user workflow impacts as they relate to IT systems and processes.
  • Maintain and update existing custom software solutions.
  • Ensures IT systems and processes are implemented and maintained to support the effective and safe delivery of patient information to care providers in a variety of settings.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships between the Clinical and Business stakeholders and IM/IT to determine appropriate IT solutions.
  • Collaborate with other team members, vendors and clinical stakeholders
  • Participate in clinical IMIT projects

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Degree or diploma in an Information Technology, Business Analysis or Health Related discipline. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in systems analysis, or systems support an asset.
  • Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology an asset.
  • Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting an asset.
  • Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP), and/or organizational change management an asset.
  • Experience supporting clinical application systems and related services in a complex health care organizational environment considered an asset.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and document issues, problems and implement resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience creating summary documentation based on evaluation and analysis an asset.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to document and solve issues.
  • Organizational skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to clearly communicate NSH vision, mission and values.

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time Position; 75 Hours Bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$33.80 - $42.25 Hourly
