About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, the Advisor is responsible for supporting engagement in the day-to-day work of the organization. The Advisor demonstrates the LEADS in a caring environment capabilities in all aspects of work to build and maintain healthy, productive workplace relationships, and cultivate a caring and compassionate environment for patients, families, colleagues and citizens. The Advisor contributes to our legislated engagement mandate by supporting opportunities for patients, stakeholders and the public to influence the decisions and direction of Nova Scotia Health through consultation and engagement activities. This position helps build internal capacity to deliver on Nova Scotia Health’s engagement priorities, directly supports those initiatives identified as corporate commitments or priorities, coaches organization leaders to demonstrate accountability by involving patients, stakeholders and the community, and evaluates engagement processes and impacts. The Advisor understands and applies the IAP2 model in their work and is an experienced facilitator who employs a wide range of engagement tools, techniques and skills. The Advisor develops opportunities for dialogue that influences decisions and change, and nurtures trusting relationships with citizens, stakeholders and the community in support of Nova Scotia Health’s vision, mission and strategic plan. This is a provincial scope team and the successful candidate could be assigned to projects anywhere across the province; access to a reliable vehicle for travel would be required.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Masters degree (Adult Education, Communication, Public Administration, Public Health) or equivalent with 3 – 5 years relevant experience
- Baccalaureate degree (Adult Education, Communication, Public Administration, Public Health) or equivalent with 5 – 7 years relevant experience
- Equivalent combination of education and 7+ years progressive experience in related fields may be considered
- Completion of the IAP2 Foundations of Public Participation Certificate; professional designation (CP3) from IAP2 preferred.
- Project management is an asset
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
- Approximately for (12) months. Dates are subject to change
- This is a remote position. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required
Compensation and Benefits
$34.79 - $42.06 Hourly
