About the Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Manager, the Ward Clerk will provide operational support and organizational assistance to the patient care area in the Emergency Department.

 

The Ward Clerk works in collaboration with all the members of the multidisciplinary team and is responsible for ensuring that all required documentation and files are processed accordingly. This position also facilitates the regular flow of paperwork functions and maintains an organized work area.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Successful completion of post-secondary education with a focus on office administration procedures required
  • Graduation from an approved Medical Terminology course required
  • Experience with Meditech module(s) Admitting/Registration preferred
  • Experience with Order Entry EMR preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet)
  • Previous experience in a health care setting as asset
  • Skill and accuracy in typing
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks required
  • Demonstrated skill in working collaboratively and effectively with others required
  • Ability and willingness to meet challenges and adapt to changing situations an asset
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered for this position
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
