About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Director, Medical Affairs, the Director will lead and oversee the strategic development, implementation and operational management of the Physician Extender Programs within Nova Scotia Health. This position will work with the MD Lead for Physician Extenders. This role ensures that the Physician Extenders, including Associate Physicians (APs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) and other Physician Extenders are integrated effectively into clinical program areas to enhance patient care delivery, improve system efficiency and optimize resource utilization.
To be successful the Director is required to build strong productive relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside the organization. These include the Zone Medical Directors, Department and division heads, members of the medical affairs portfolio, Physicians, Senior Directors, Networks/Programs, Directors and Coordinators as well staff at the Department of Health and Wellness, Nova Scotia College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dalhousie University’s Master of Physician Assistant program, and Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA).
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
• Minimum 5 years progressive leadership and management experience and success in health system management required
• Master’s degree in a health management or leadership discipline or equivalent
• Advanced training in Strategic Planning, conflict resolution and financial management considered an asset
• In depth knowledge and understanding of the Nova Scotia Health Authority and Health Care organizational structure.
• Demonstrated experience working with highly confidential and/or sensitive personal and organizational information while maintaining a high degree of professionalism
• Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving skills, decision-making skills and self-directed.
• Ability to lead and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent collaboration, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• The ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize detail-oriented work in accordance with changing deadlines.
• Ability to foster and promote excellent relationships and enhance inter-portfolio communication.
• An understanding of working in a diverse culture.
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits
$54.99 - $68.74 Hourly
