About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Rehabilitation & Supportive Care Services, the Program Manager is responsible for the leadership and operational management of the inpatient and outpatient Rehabilitation and Supportive Care team members within the VG Medicine/Surgical/Cancer Care team at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Central Zone. The Program Manager is expected to oversee service delivery models for the health professions within the VG Med/Surg/Cancer Care team and to lead the development and implementation of new care models with a goal of improving care throughout the continuum of rehabilitation and supportive care services. The Program Manager is responsible for the planning and coordination of services and daily operations within the team and to partner with stakeholders with and external to Nova Scotia Health. Related to this the Program Manager is also expected to partner with provincial initiatives that support their clinical area, and to play a leadership role in the creation and implementation of a planning framework to develop a cohesive provincial strategy and sustainable rehabilitation programs.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Master's degree in a health discipline, health administration, business administration or related subject (equivalent experience and/or alternative education may be considered)
- Demonstrated professional mastery in the respective discipline.
- Must be registered with and a member in good standing of the relevant health discipline college/association
- Seven to ten years of relevant clinical experience in hospital-based rehabilitation.
- Minimum of three years leadership experience, or acceptable equivalent, in the health care field
- Excellent judgement, initiative, self-direction; abstract and adaptive problem solving ability required
- Demonstrates strong and comprehensive leadership skills, excellent communication skills, the ability to present complex issues with clarity and credibility, a visionary, innovator and motivator.
- Capacity to manage multiple, competing priorities, problem-solve and direct others.
- Capable of analytical and creative decision making
- Strong motivation, team building and change management knowledge and skills
- Well versed in quality and change management principles. Knowledgeable in the areas of Best Practice, Evidence-Based Practice with well-developed knowledge of rehabilitative systems and service delivery models
- Frequent travel between sites in Central Zone as well as occasional travel throughout the province
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Long Assignment Full Time; 75 hours Bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits
$46.36 - $61.60 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. (Permanent Long Assignments Only)
