About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of International Recruitment, you will play a key role in supporting the recruitment and integration of Internationally Educated Registered Nurses (IENs) into our healthcare system. Acting as the primary point of expertise, you will oversee the prescreening process, collaborate with the Interprofessional Practice & Learning team for assessments, and ensure candidates are matched to suitable roles. A trusted partner to Managers and Directors, you will provide expert advice on international recruitment processes, ensuring effective and compliant hiring practices. Additionally, you will be responsible for verifying immigration eligibility, ensuring all compliance standards are met, and offering end-to-end support to the International Recruitment Team.


The International Recruitment Advisor participates in quality improvement initiatives and all other projects as requested.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:


 
•    Graduate of a post secondary degree/program in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
•    Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) preferred
•    Minimum of 3 - 5 years of recent work experience in Human Resources
•    Experience working in a unionized environment preferred
•    Experience working in a healthcare environment preferred
•    Knowledge of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program and Nova Scotia Nominee Program is considered an asset
•    Effective communication, customer service, problem solving and decision making skills
•    Ability to understand and anticipate the impact of decisions at departmental level
•    Ability to clearly articulate HR policies and processes
•    Well developed organizational and daily planning skills
•    Knowledge of relevant Collective Agreement and employment guide articles and legislation (e.g. privacy legislation)
•    Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Internet Explorer, and human resource information system (preferably PeopleSoft)
•    Effective research and analytical thinking skills
•    Effective conflict resolution and rapport-building skills
•    Effective work practice – accountable, dependable, flexible, persevering, sets goals and meets deadlines, results oriented
•    Demonstrated self-starter, decision maker and problem solver
•    Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Long Assignment, Full Time/ 75 Hours Bi-weekly

  • This position is eligible to participate in our work from home program

Compensation and Benefits

$30.51 - $38.13 hourly
