About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), and under the direction of the Research Manager, the Research Assistant contributes to the research study by assisting with recruitment, administration of tests and interviews, collection of biological samples, data collection, study administration, by providing administrative support and entering study data for clinical studies investigating depression in Nova Scotia Health’s Depression Clinical Research Program (DCRP). The DCRP aims to match each person with depression to the treatment that will give them the best chances of recovery. This challenging position offers opportunities for training, and professional growth.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (Psychology, Science) preferred
  • Previous experience in a health care or clinical research is an asset
  • Experience with mental illness care an asset
  • Knowledge of diagnostic criteria for mental and behavioral disorders is an asset
  • Experience with cognitive testing as an asset
  • Effective communication, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Well-developed organizational, time management and daily planning skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Ability to deal with a wide variety of people in a professional manner
  • Competencies in multiple languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Long Assignment, Full-Time; 75 Hours Bi-Weekly
  • May 2026 to May 2027, approximately 12 months

Compensation and Benefits

$23.34 - $29.18 Hourly
