About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Nutrition & Food Services, the Cashier performs basic, routine duties related to the preparation and service of food for patients and cafeteria clients. This position is responsible for working the cash in the cafeteria, portioning cafeteria menu items, preparing nourishments, sandwiches and salads. Also, serving meals to patients and cafeteria clientele, delivering patient meal trays, operating and cleaning equipment in the department as well as assisting the Cook in food preparation for patient food and cafeteria service, stocking and cleaning refrigerators, replenishing cafeteria dishes and utensils. Other duties as required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
 

  • Grade 12/GED or equivalent required
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (lifting, bending, walking, standing)
  • Excellent customer service
  • Previous experience with handling cash and dietary experience working within a health care setting an asset
  • Serv Safe Basic course, or willing to take upon hire
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly 
  • Approximately 12 months
  • Call and shift work required, evenings, nights, and weekends

Compensation and Benefits

$21.72 - $23.36 Hourly
