Our Medical Laboratory Technologist graduates (under a Licensed MLT) works in collaboration with all members of the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine team to conduct diagnostic analytical laboratory tests and procedures to using appropriate methodologies and quality assurance techniques.

The MLT ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the services they provide and through the messages they deliver.

Work Hours & Pay

$33.20 - $42.47 hourly
 

Various permanent, assignments (temporary), and casual relief (no guarantee of hours), opportunities available in various locations throughout Nova Scotia.

Your Must Haves

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Recognized Medical Laboratory Technologist Program or equivalent (as determined by NSRMLS)
• Candidates must have successfully completed the Medical Laboratory Technologist examinations in all five disciplines
  • Consideration may be given to applicants who are licensed in preferred disciplines  
• Licensure (Active) with Nova Scotia Regulator of Medical Laboratory Sciences (NSRMLS)
• Personal Liability Insurance (PLI) required

• Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge/experience with Instrumentation particular to the discipline is an asset
• Must be able to perform procedures with a high degree of accuracy
• Analysis within timeframes to preserve specimen integrity
• Ability to adapt to updates/changes in operating procedures
• Access to reliable transportation as travel may be required
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
