Job Description

The Highland Health Home is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage October 7th, 8th and 9th, 2026. 

Responsibilities

  • delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
  • work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access
  • utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Remuneration

  • guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day)
  • additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded.
  • accommodations up to $300 per night 
  • travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500)
  • travel time up to 10 hours per week
  • licensing fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSNS)

Highland Health Home is a large, collaborative healthcare clinic with a team of 7 physicians, 3 Nurse Practitioners, a family practice nurses (FPNs), a social worker, a dietician, pharmacist and an experienced clerical staff providing essential administrative support. The practice fosters a highly supportive environment, ensuring comprehensive patient care. It utilizes the MedAccess electronic medical record (EMR) system to streamline documentation and enhance efficiency in patient management.
