Job Description
Join a family practice in Barrington Passage, working alongside physicians, NPs, nurses, social workers, allied health to provide primary care to the community. Barrington Community Health Clinic offers family practice of all ages, with opportunities for procedures at the clinic. This is a small rural community clinic. It is a turnkey practice operated by Nova Scotia Health. You can focus on your family practice. Patients would be rostered to a new provider from the Need a Family Practice Registry. There is flexibility in the hours a provider can work throughout the week including evenings and weekends. It is a turnkey practice without the extra work to hire your own staff and manage the day-to-day operations. There is an interprofessional team working in the practice and community that collaborate to provide team-based comprehensive care for the patient population. This is a perfect community to work long term with your family practice patients using a collaborative team-based approach.
Responsibilities
- provide comprehensive, full-scope primary health care to practice patients of all ages and stages of health and illness
- maintain timely and accurate patient records using a provincially approved electronic medical record (EMR)
- participate in quality improvement, practice evaluation, and other activities that support the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centered care
- attend regular physician and team meetings
- comply with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, policies, and professional standards of Nova Scotia Health
- partake in continuing medical education (CME) and professional development opportunities
- participate in teaching of medical learners
Expected Hours
- Full-time Equivalency: 1.0 FTE
- weekly hours: 40 hours per week
- call schedule: none
- 46/52 weeks per year
Remuneration
- Longitudinal Family Medicine (LFM) contract approximately $ 375,000 - 400,000 CAD
- family physicians in Nova Scotia are compensated based on the LFM payment model or Fee for Service (FFS)

Qualifications
- all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- all applicants must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
