Job Description

Join an established collaborative family practice in Yarmouth, working alongside 5 physicians, 2 NPs, 2 nurses, social worker, dietician, pharmacist and a practice facilitator to provide primary care to the community. Harbour South Medical Clinic offers a procedure room, with opportunities for hospital work, ED, teaching, procedures at the nearby Yarmouth Regional Hospital. This clinic is located in the downtown core and has a full life span patient population. Patients may be from an existing panel and the Need a Family Practice Registry.

Responsibilities

  • provide comprehensive, full-scope primary health care to practice patients of all ages and stages of health and illness
  • maintain timely and accurate patient records using a provincially approved electronic medical record (EMR)
  • participate in quality improvement, practice evaluation, and other activities that support the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centered care
  • attend regular physician and team meetings
  • comply with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, policies, and professional standards of Nova Scotia Health
  • partake in continuing medical education (CME) and professional development opportunities 
  • participate in teaching of medical learners

Expected Hours

  • Full-time Equivalency: 1.0 FTE
  • weekly hours: 40 hours per week
  • call schedule: not applicable
  • 46/52 weeks per year

Harbour South Medical Clinic in Yarmouth is a jointly owned family practice, supported by the Town of Yarmouth and the Municipalities of Yarmouth and Argyle. It is a turnkey practice operated by Nova Scotia Health. The clinic provides ongoing primary care to its registered patients, offering physicians the opportunity to focus on continuity of care within a stable, well-supported practice environment and is located in the downtown core of Yarmouth Nova Scotia.
