Registered Nurse Opportunities, units and requirements:
Experience could be preferred, but not always required (depending on the position).
Units:

Specialty Units:
These units typically require experience or further education.
- ICU
- One (1) year full-time Critical Care experience required
- Completion of an approved Critical Care Course/Critical Care Certificate/CCNP and/or one year of experience in critical care required for ICU/IMCU positions
- Emergency (ER)
- Emergency Nursing Program -OR- Canadian Nurses Association Emergency Nursing Certification
- One-year full-time Emergency experience
- Operating Rooms (OR)
- One year of recent Operating Room experience and/or completion of a post graduate Operating Room course or O.R. certification required
- Public Health
- 1 year minimum nursing experience in Public Health or Community Health required, two (2) years experience preferred
- Nova Scotia Public Health Immunization Certification or willingness to complete
- Primary Health Care
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse required
- Successful completion of the Family Practice Nursing Program or equivalent recognized program, or currently enrolled in the program required
- Renal Services
- Hemodialysis experience required
- If no applicant is found with the required Hemodialysis experience, applicants with Med / Surg experience and a willingness to complete an 8 week Hemodialysis Course may be considered
Nurse Practitioner Opportunities, units hiring:

Licensed Practical Nurse Opportunities, units hiring:
Experience could be preferred, but not always required (depending on the position).
Units:
- Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg)
- Alternate Level of Care
- Transitional Care (TCU)
- Long Term Care (LTC)
- Mental Health & Addictions (MH&A)
- Palliative Care
- Rehabilitation
Specialty Units:
These units typically require experience or further education
- Emergency (ER)
- Minimum of 1-2 years recent acute medical nursing experience preferred
- Successful completion in physical assessment and pharmacology course offered through Nova Scotia Community College is required
- Operating Room (OR)
- Perioperative LPN program required
- Renal Services
- Hemodialysis experience required
- If no applicants with the required Hemodialysis experience is successful, applicants with Med/Surg experience and willing to complete am 8 week training course will be considered
- Hemodialysis experience required
