About the Opportunity

The Administrative Coordinator is accountable for overall management of the site while on duty including holding accountability for patient flow and is a resource for nursing staff, other health professionals, support departments and the liaison for Senior Management and Executive.  The Administrative Coordinator is also responsible for some of the duties of Risk Management, Patient Relations, Social Work and Infection Control during hours of duty.  Hospital Executive vests authority with the incumbent on duty to make all decisions that will maintain the highest standard of patient care and the safe efficient operation of the Dartmouth General Hospital in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree is required
  • Masters of Health is an asset
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
  • Five years recent acute care clinical experience required
  • Clinical experience with utilization and patient flow management practices, methodologies or equivalent knowledge, experience and education is preferred
  • BLS-C (HCP) certification is required
  • Previous leadership/Management experience an asset
  • Certification in Health Administration preferred
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and competence in leadership, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and motivation
  • Ability to interpret and execute administrative directives in order to act as the administrative representative while working independently as well as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Part-time Long Assignment Position, 37.5 hours biweekly
  • Approximately 16 months 

Compensation and Benefits

$42.94 - $57.05 Hourly
