About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Adult Outpatient Mental Health & Addiction Services, the Team Leader coordinates and supervises the operation of community-based mental & addiction services programs that deliver mental health & addiction assessment, treatment, and disposition planning to clients and their families with mental health disorders across the lifespan. Ensures and oversees the provision of comprehensive services to this target population. Liaison with local outpatient and other community-based services and agencies as well as with inpatient mental health units is encouraged to promote consistency and continuity of patient care.

 

The Team Leader provides clinical supervision/support to multi-disciplinary teams and ongoing and extensive clinical supervision to new clinicians and clinicians with little experience within this specialty as part of recruitment and retention strategies. This position will be based at the Cole Harbour Community Mental Health and Addictions clinic but will require travel to various sites within Central Zone.  The role is supporting teams within Central Zone to ensure timely and appropriate transfers to the Community Mental Health and Addictions programs and the Connections teams.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or Occupational Therapy from an acceptable from an educational institution
  • Registered, or eligible to register with the appropriate regulatory body within the Province of Nova Scotia
  • Minimum three to five years experience providing assessment and treatment to adults within a mental health setting & addiction services setting
  • Demonstrated effective decision-making, critical thinking, and problem solving in a high-pressure situation required
  • Demonstrated ability to meet challenges and adapt to rapidly changing and stressful situations required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in the development, implementation, and monitoring of policies, as well as a proven track record in adhering to departmental policies
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in working collaboratively on a multi-disciplinary team, as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated accountability and responsibility, planning, organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical practice, with an integrated focus on safety, quality care and clinical excellence
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in documentation, including performing chart audits
  • Strong crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
  • Valid Nova Scotia driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and appropriate insurance coverage is required

Hours

  • Permanent Full-Time, 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Travel required

Compensation and Benefits

$50.19 - $59.99 Hourly
